Appointments

New Referrals:

Where you feel you have a problem that needs specialist referral to the rheumatology clinic, please approach your GP who will be able to advise you on initial management and any investigations that might be required in advance of your appointment.

Why do I need a letter of Referral from my GP?

It is a requirement of the Medical Council that patients wishing to attend a consultant medical specialist should have a letter of referral from their GP. We regret that we are unable to see patients without a formal referral.

The referral letter is also an important source of information about your background medical history, investigations relevant to your problem and helps us greatly in prioritising the urgency of your medical problem.

If you have any questions about appointments email us.

How long will it take to be seen?

Appointments are offered quickly on receipt of a referral letter. Patients can be very quickly in the event of an emergency.
